We are looking forward to our first Chess Clinic of the 2023 - 2024 school year hosted by the CHS Chess Club. Thank you to the BPS students in Grades 3 - 5 who pre-registered for the event which will be held on on Thursday, 1/11/24 from from 2:55 PM to 4:00 PM in the BPS Cafegymatorium.

Any families who had make up or retake school photos taken on Wednesday, 11/15 may review the images online, select a yearbook photo and place orders. Please click the link above for details.

For Grades 1 - 5, arrival will be at 8:35 AM and dismissal at 12:35 PM. No lunch will be served, but please pack a water and snack. For Kindergarten, only AM kindergarten students will attend school. Arrival will be at 8:35 AM and dismissal at 11:15 AM. Happy Holidays!

The BPS Winter Concert will be held for parents/guardians and families in the Brookside Place School cafegymatorium on Wednesday 12/13 at 7pm. For fellow students and staff, the Winter Concert assembly will be held on Wednesday 12/20 at 9:30 AM.

Parents/Guardians are invited to Brookside Place School on Thursday, 12/14 at 7:30 PM for a forum focused on the upcoming referendum.

Thank you to the BPS families and staff who supported the Student Council collection of new socks in recognition of Veterans Day. We collected an amazing 160 pairs of socks! Here the Student Council Officers pose with the collection. All donations will be delivered to the East Orange VA Medical Center. The cards and notes of thanks were delivered to VFW Post #335 in Cranford.

Students in Grades 3, 4 and 5 were presented with seasonal STEM challenges in their Library / Media Center classes. They employed strategies and household materials to build a spider bridge, construct a fence to support five pumpkins, or create a pumpkin platform. STEM, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, is a component of the maker space activities led by Mrs. McCloskey, BPS Librarian and Media Center Specialist.
