Coding is Cool

BPS students have been using robots and their coding skills during their library / media classes. Learning tools Sphero, Dash, Edison and the Coding Mouse are programmed to complete specific tasks. These fun and interactive lessons enforce STEM learning (science, technology, engineering and math).

Celebrating the Earth

Students in Mrs. Sforza's AM and PM kindergarten classes recognized Earth Day by planting flowers outside their dismissal door bringing signs of spring right to their doorstep. They also engaged in learning centers designed to teach important concepts while honoring our special planet. Thank you to the BPS PTA for supporting the project and to the parent/guardian volunteers who helped make it a success.

The Power to Inspire

In recognition of Say Something Week, BPS School Counselor Mrs. Biggiani invited students to reflect on the statement: When you say something, you have the power to inspire! Students were able to submit poems, paintings, short stories or other creative pieces about what this statement means to them. Congratulations to the four students who were honored for their submissions!

Arbor Day Celebration

BPS students and staff recognized Arbor Day 2022 with a return to our traditional tree planting ceremony. The four Grade 1 classes began the event by singing "The Star Spangled Banner" followed by "It's Time Plant a Tree." The special inscription that accompanied the newly planted crepe myrtle was: "Through tough years, just like a tree with strong roots, we remain standing tall."

Memories as Art

The theme of BPS Art Night 2022 was "Favorite Family Memory" and was inspired by the artist Faith Ringgold's "Tar Beach." BPS students used mixed materials to create works depicting special family moments. The creations were colorful and heartfelt reflections of caring. When displayed together they created a tapestry of gratitude for time spent together.
