Clubs and Activities

Brookside Place School is fortunate to offer students a roster of activities and clubs.
Chorus: Students in Grades 4 - 5 can share in the joy of singing with Chorus Director Mrs. Caitlin Sweet. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
Band: Students in Grades 4 - 5 continue to expand their musicianship as well as their specific instrument technique with Band Instructor Mr. Kyle Gautieri. In addition, small groups meet for lessons during the school day.
Orchestra: Students in Grades 4 - 5 work with String Instructor Ms. Olivia Ruiz to develop their playing talents while exploring music theory and musicianship.
Student Council: The BPS Student Council works together to address needs at Brookside Place School and in the Cranford community at large. There are elections for Student Council officers and annual service projects, such as the BPS Souper Bowl, a school-wide collection of canned goods to benefit Cranford Family Care that coincides with the NFL Super Bowl. The advisors are Mrs. Nansie Collins and Mrs. Beth Lambe.
Environmental Club: Under the direction of Ms. Jenna Baillod, students in Grades 3 - 5 learn about their local and global environment while exploring ways to preserve it. Through various activities and research, students choose a “cause” to focus on and determine how they can help create awareness.
Homework Club: Overseen by Mrs.Nicole Halkias, students in Grades 3 - 5 can participate in Homework Club. Here they receive extra support or assistance in certain subjects, collaborate with others and have discussions on assignments in a supportive environment.
